As our organisation grows, we are seeking a passionate Volunteer Communications Lead to help expand our reach and impact.


Role Overview

The Volunteer Communications Lead will be responsible for shaping and delivering Afrikana CIC’s communications strategy. This role will help strengthen our brand presence, promote our programmes and events, and ensure our message reaches and resonates with our community and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with organisational goals
  • Manage and grow Afrikana CIC’s social media and digital platforms
  • Create engaging content including posts, stories, visuals, and announcements
  • Support media relations and stakeholder communications
  • Promote events, programmes, and community initiatives
  • Monitor and track communication performance and engagement

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Creative, organised, and proactive
  • Passionate about culture, community, and social impact
  • Skilled or interested in communications, media, PR, or digital content creation
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Enthusiastic about amplifying community voices

Previous experience in communications, marketing, media, or public relations is desirable but not essential.
